Hello!

Thank you for me! For today's post, I have created an inspiration card for the new challenge on the Cheery Lynn Design blog - Mothers Day.

Mothers Day is such a special day to show the woman/women in your life that you care. That you appreciate all they do. They may not be your birth mother but someone that is there for you, supports you in lifes ups & downs, and that you love!

Altered Frame

Hello,

I wanted to share an Altered Frame that I have created using some paint and a variety of chipboard embellishments. I have used a few techniques from stamping with Chipboard to clear embossing for a lacquer finish.

For the center of the frame, I cut my cream card to size and stamped my sentiment using black archival ink. I then painted my Spring Fresh Swirl Corner using Distress Paint. While the paint was still wet - I flipped it and pressed it onto the cream cardstock just as you would a stamp. I love the look it gives! I then applied clear embossing powder to the Swirl Corner and heat set for a lacquer finish.

For the outside Ornate Square Frame chipboard embellishment, I also used Distress Paint also and clear embossing powder. I heat set and then adhered it to the frame.

I placed the Spring Fresh Swirl Corner in the left top corner, the glass and the cream stamped cardstock behind. I placed the backing on the frame and added a few lovely roses in my colour palette.

Misfit Card with Corina Finley

Hello!

Thank you for joining me today. For this weeks card post, I decided to create a card using my 'Misfit' cuts. These are the die cuts I have previously cut for another creation and cast aside!! I store these die cuts all together in a container and they always come in handy. As I cut 75% of my die cuts from white cardstock, it is easy to ink to any colour palette.

Here I have layered the one of the Small Exotic Butterflies #2 die. The layer underneath is vellum and gives the butterfly more depth. I inked the top layer with purple Distress Ink, added Clear Wink of Stella and purple rhinestones for a touch of glitter.

April New Release Blog Hop

Hello!

I hope you are enjoying the blog hop for the Cheery Lynn Designs April New Release of US States and Canadian Provinces & Territories dies. As I am a proud Canadian, my card is inspired by my home province of British Columbia.

If you are following Cheery Lynn Designs blog hop then you should have just came from Amy's blog (www.amyvoorthuis.blogspot.comand saw the beautiful creation she has done for this hop.

As you can see above from the picture on the right, the die set comes with the layout of British Columbia and the abbreviation for the name - BC.

I know I will be using the British Columbian die in my journal and scrapbook layouts to show the location of my travels within BC.

Live in the Moment Card

Hello

There is a new challenge over on the Cheery Lynn Designs blog. The challenge is Flowers (must be handmade) and I have created a soft & elegant card for inspiration. Cheery Lynn has numerous flower dies and I love to mix and match to create different flowers.

For these flowers, I created the Black Eyed SusanJudy's Blooms and Cherry Blossom. In the center of the Black Eyed Susan, I have used the Chrysanthemum for a more opened flower. For the center of the other two flowers I used the base of the Miniature Rose (twice).

Red Poppy Card

Hello,

I am glad that you have joined me for today's blog post.

I have created my card with no sentiment. I find that sometimes I want to create and don't always have a reason at that moment. Then at other times,  I need a card and the cards that I have on hand don't fit the occasion - my added sentiments limit the card use!

I have created a lot of layers using the Square StitchNesting Doll Circles, the Nesting Doll Circles Shapes and the Horizon Fishtail Banner. I added my Red Poppy flower created using Judy's Blooms and the center using the base of the Medium & miniature rose in black cardstock. Tucked in the Dandelions in a blue and various foliage in grey.

Memories Canvas

Hello!

I am so glad you have joined me, Corina, today for my post! I have created a shadow box style canvas of my two boys (Tyler and Colten) to share with you.

I started my project by picking my Chipboard embellishments and having them in front of me on my work surface along with my Canvas. I decided to flip the canvas upside down and use it as a Shadow Box style frame.
I cut the Lg Frame Gears into a few pieces and glued them in the opening of the frame using Multi Medium. I also cut the keys from that design, using one in the frame (under the picture in the middle), one on the left side of the frame and two on top of the Gears Banner - jumbo.

I added burlap and a few metal embellishments to the layout. I used a paintbrush to cover everything with a even coat of black gesso. I painted the sides of the canvas plus the banner and the Memories Word with the black gesso. I set it aside to dry.
Once dry, I used Lindys sprays to add the colour and heat set between colour layers. I love the look that I have created and the depth that the different embellishments give. I added paper to the frame and used a gear stencil and distress ink to create a soft design.

The Gears Banner was adhered to the frame at the top, bottom and right side. To finish off my frame, I added the metal bolts to the corners, the Memories Word and Key embellishments.
