Cherish Card by Corina Finley

Hello! Corina here with you today sharing my weekly card on the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog!

This week I thought I would play with the Black Eyed Susan Strip flower die. This strip die has 4 flower layers - I used only two layers to create this flower. The Die also has a centre for the Black Eyed Susan which I did not use for this flower today.

I inked each with blue ink and then misted both layers with water. I gave the water a few seconds to soak in and then I twisted each petal (pinching the tips) in the same direction. I allowed them to dry and sprayed with homemade glimmer mist.

I then layered one on top of the other and added a pearl brad. I love the look of this flower - so whimsical! I hope you try to make one and let me know how it turns out!

Happy Steampunk Card

Hello Everyone! Today is my regular Friday post on the Cheery Lynn Design Blog!

Last week I shared with you my card which was outside my CCZ! With this in mind, I thought this weeks card should show my Colour Comfort Zone and my creative style!

My favourite line in the Cheery Lynn Dies has to be the Steampunk! They are so versatile, allowing you to create in a number of styles. They bring the "playing out" in card making, each layer a different type of media.

I wanted to share the above picture, so you could see the quality and detail on these die cuts. They are an absolutely breeze to cut out and work with!

Coffee with a Friend!

Hello Everyone! Corina here with you again on this fabulous Friday!

Do you notice that the cards you make tend to be in the same colour palette and it is sometimes hard to create in colours that are not your favourite? I call this "CCZ" - Colour Comfort Zone! ....... Pink is 100% outside my CCZ!

I wanted my Doilies to be stacked, so I cut out three of my favourites and trimmed so they fit on top of each other. I also used my sewing machine for the first time on a card! Love the look of the zigzag and straight stitching!

This week try creating outside your CCZ! You never know what will happen -  perhaps you might start liking your "Pink"!

Wishes Card!

Hello Everyone!

Today over on the Cheery Lynn Designs blog I am sharing my Wishes Card.

This week I wanted to create a card using the  Butterflies Flying Among the Vines Mesh Border die and the Small Lace Faerie Queen die. I am very happy on my finished card!

I cut the die cuts out with white cardstock and then inked each piece. I sprayed each with my homemade shimmer spray to have a little sparkle!

I also used the Horizon Square Boutique Stacker Frames die to cut my card base and centre. I placed the top fold 1/4 inch down off the cutting edge on the die. Tip: use some removable tape helps keep the paper and die straight!

Dies Used:

Horizon Square Boutique Stacker Frames - DL253
Small Lace Faerie Queen w/Angel Wing - DL161
Butterflies Flying Among the Vines Mesh Border - B401
Best Wishes Phrase - B244
Tea Rose Medium - B436
Miniature Rose - B152
Medium Rose - B154

Good Day with Corina

Hello Friends!

It's Corina with you today - on this fabulous Friday! I wanted to start off by saying that I love checking out our Challenge each week here of the Cheery Lynn Blog and seeing every ones wonderful and lovely creations. I like to see what inspires each person, how they create and some times a glimpse into their life and thought process.

As I was making my card for this weeks post,  'ionabunny' blog post from her last weeks card challenge entry popped into my head! My card needs......This is exactly what she was talking about!
"Do you ever start a project and it just get bigger and bigger and bigger??  It just needs one little bit to finish it.  And maybe a bit here.  And there."
You are so right Gail/Iona/Crafty Nomad! - Love your posts!

As I mentioned last week, I sometimes cut the dies and use pieces of them. I
cut the Ribbon Eyelet Border die cut down the center and placed half on both sides of my pattern paper strip going down my card. I also used the left over piece of my Chasing Rainbows Doily die cut from last weeks card! Added some ink and it made a wonderful layer! Never throw anything away!

Dies used:
Sweet Christine - B434
Tea Rose Medium - B436
Miniature Rose - B152
Coved Rectangle Classic - Silver Stackers - L-10
Add a Flourish (Set of 2) - B456
Chasing Rainbows Doily with Angel Wing - DL229
Tiny Things with Wings - B266

I hope you will play along in our weekly Challenge 134 - Roses. You could win a $20 shopping spree at the online Cheery Lynn Designs store!

Happy Card with Corina Finley

Corina here with the Friday blog post for Cheery Lynn Designs. Thank you for joining me!

I created my flowers using the background patterned paper as a colour palette. This weeks card has a Fall Vintage feel! I love the brightness of the orange and the depth of the brown tones.

Here is a close-up of the floral arrangement. I used buttons, ribbon, seam binding, pearls and my homemade shimmer spray to enhance my flowers. Don't be afraid to cut up your die cuts and use portions of them. I used a piece of the Chasing Rainbows Doily on the top right of the floral arrangement.

Hello Card From Corina!

Hello Everyone!

Corina here with the Cheery Lynn Designs Friday blog post. Thank you for joining me!

I very much enjoyed creating this card because I used a few new release dies for the first time and also tried cutting the Rustic Birdhouse die out of burlap. Which was not difficult at all. The die went through my Big Shot with no problem, smooth and easy!

I love creating nature scenes for my cards using my Cheery Lynn Dies. I hope you will try a new medium (burlap, vellum, Lutradur® Mixed Media Sheets )  to die cut on your next project! Let me know what you tried!
