Journey Card

Hello!

Summer has gone by very quickly is seems! I had the chance last week to spend a few hours in my Studio. I created a few cards that I will be sharing with you over the next month or so. Just like my last post on my blog, I decided to use Distress Ink Oxides and a Stencil for the back drop of my card.

To create the background, I second generation stamped using a large Prima Script background stamp with black archival ink directly over top of the Distress Oxide background.  I applied grey metallic paint over the Gear Stencil with a blending tool.  I used my heat tool to dry.

I painted the gears with the same grey metallic paint. I spritzed and inked some roses in a variety of colours and sizes. I set these aside to dry naturally.

With an extra piece of the inked background paper and decided on this large bold sentiment from a Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Collection Stamp set. I stamped with versamark and applied ultra Fine black embossing powder and heat set. I then used a clear glitter pen to enhance the words, Journey, Truely, and Changed.

Secrets Tag by Corina Finley

Thank you for joining me Today!

This week I decided to create a Tag, played with a stencil and alter some awesome chipboard elements.

I created my layers from black and manila cardstock. I used a large Tag die to cut the black cardstock. The Tag base was stamped this a Distress Lined Background stamp with versamark, sprinkled with clear embossing powder and heat set.

For the Manila cardstock, I applied Distressed Oxide in Fired Brick using an Ink Blending tool.  I dried the piece, then flicked with water and used a piece of paper towel to blot up the excess.

I used a stencil next with a metallic grey paint. I applied the paint unevenly with a Ink blending tool - wanting some lighter areas. Set aside to dry fully. Then the stencil was reapplied and each brick was traced using a black fine tip marker.

To alter the Med Key Holes, I used thick black embossing powder, while still wet (hot), I sprinkled with black glass glitter.  The Bolts and Plaque were painted with Black Gesso. The Mini Wood Key was painted with silver paint and a little was added to the 4 Bolts.

Seam binding, black twine and a metal Secret Charm was added for a finishing touch!
